St. Simon Lighthouse Sunrise - A great sunrise coming up over the Lighthouse on St. Simon island Georgia with the Alantic ocean in view along the rocky shoreline as it slope down to the beach below. This was taken from the public park and beach area near the St. Simon island Pier a popular spot for watching the sunset and sunrise. We like this area of St. Simon which is part of the Goden Isles of Georgia a group of barrier island with this wonderful coastline with these nice beaches. St Simon is the largest of the islands of the barrier islands with a population of around 12,000. The Golden isles got it name from the many marshland that surround all the island that turn to a golden color as the temperatures drop in the area. This whole area is part of the Golden isles of ga which is located along the alantic ocean in america.
